I meet with clients who are at times so confused with color and how it has to work with a mood, space and layout of a home.

I suggest at times to look at nature or just your surroundings! As an Artist I can see so many layers of color in something.
These are photos I took down on Hatteras Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina recently.
These just caught my eye and I had to share them with you!
Why not experiment with color being it bold or subtle!

Painted Cabinets RE-DO

These were knotty Pine Cabinets before. We painted them in A color called. FRENCH IVORY then glazed in mocha! Added corbels and panels to the kitchen Island!
We also added crown at the top to meet ceiling!
It was an amazing transformation!

Painting Kitchen Cabinets! by Diana Baxter

To paint or not to paint? That is for sure a question and has several answers. We have painted many kitchen cabinets over.
Here is a list of what to look for first

Make sure doors are not warped
Frames are of wood not veneer or a paper product
Forget Formica or laminates. They require TOXIC VOC paints.

Things you can do to spruce them up. Cut out the inside panels add glass, wire, fabric, artwork.

Getting started: Remove all doors and drawers and hardware. Take into a clean dry space. prep area. Clean and sand all frames and doors. wipe down and clean up area. Apply a latex primmer. If cabinets are to be other than white then just have primmer tinted. Use sponge rollers or if you have a sprayer do so. SEAL off all doorways and wear a mask if spraying. Paint on several coats and allow a dry time. use a good latex based sealer when done and seal with a few coats. Wait a few days and put doors and drawers back up. Add new hardware and ENJOY your new cabinets!
Next time I will discuss how to glaze and dry brush the doors and frames for a high end look! Good luck and have fun!

I have someone I would like you all to meet. Susan Harrick a Feng Shui Practitioner in CT.

We met at a networking meeting back in February. Being a Designer flow and harmony in an environment are key to a successful design.
So many times it is more that color and design.. It can be in the Energy flow or Feng Shui of the home or office.
Susan Has certainly helped me to obtain optimal flow and balance in my in home office.
I had MAJOR issues with the space and it was effecting me personal and business life.

Office space and functionality.
Do you have a HOME office space? Is the space conducive to your work? Does it feel as if you are separated from the rest of you home and especially for women are you tempted to just throw in a load of laundry?
This blog is to discuss and remedy some of those "IN Home Office" issues.

Where is the space? A spare bedroom? Den? basement? over a garage?
Is there a natural light source? How about the size of the room and it's location of outside noise?
Is it a space in which you can bring in a client or vendor?

So many questions? I have some of the answers!

GO GREEN Paints

Looking for any feedback on GO GREEN paints ! The non toxic low or NO VOC (Volitale organic compounds)
What was your feedback? How was the price, application and odor!
Wanted to share with others!

I have used Mythic paints.. Colors were great as they can use other manufacturers colors!
Sherwin Williams also makes a non odor paint. Loved it!
Any feed back?
